Bruce McKillop Agility Leaders of Tomorrow Award

Agility supports all students by providing students with resources to enable transformative and innovative research which have cultural, social, and economic benefits for Alberta and beyond. One such support is the Bruce McKillop Agility Leaders of Tomorrow Award.

The Bruce McKillop Agility Leaders of Tomorrow Award is offered to qualified continuing undergraduate students with an interest, or current involvement, applying their acquired liberal education skills to learn about innovation, risk-taking, and/or entrepreneurship.

These opportunities are made possible through the generous philanthropic gift of one of southern Alberta’s most prominent entrepreneurs, Mr. Bruce McKillop.  With Mr. McKillop’s vision as the foundation for this award, the University of Lethbridge Agility program is excited to be advancing opportunities to educate future generations in innovation and entrepreneurship.

Cor Van Raay Agility Awards in Agriculture

Agility also offers supports for students who are interested in the agriculture and agribusiness. Agriculture and agribusiness is a large economic sector in Southern Alberta that expands far beyond the traditional farm. The Cor Van Raay Agility Award in Agriculture was created to inspire students to explore the opportunities within this key sector.

The Cor Van Raay Agility Award in Agriculture is for qualified continuing undergraduate students with current involvement in agriculture or agribusiness or an interest in innovation and/or entrepreneurship related to agriculture or agribusiness.

Applicants are invited to submit the paper application in addition to one of the following options:

  1. A one page description of their current involvement in activities related to agriculture (e.g. Junior Achievement, Canadian Youth Business Foundation, Community Futures, 4-H, self-initiated, family business, etc.)
  2. A proposal for a project or research in an entrepreneurial endeavour or innovative development in agriculture or agribusiness.

The Cor Van Raay Agility Award in Agriculture is valued at $1,500 each. Up to five scholarships will be awarded in the 2017/2018 academic year.

These opportunities are made possible through the generous philanthropic gift of one of southern Alberta’s most prominent agricultural entrepreneurs, Dr. Cor Van Raay (LLD ’15).  With Dr. Van Raay’s vision as the foundation for this award, the University of Lethbridge Agility program is excited to be advancing opportunities to educate future generations in agribusiness innovation.
