The University of Lethbridge AGILITY Program is a university-wide initiative designed to inspire and support innovation and entrepreneurship among students.  AGILITY is unique.  It is grounded in student-led research, ideas and creativity.  AGILITY serves students in all disciplines and faculties and is focused on providing students with resources to enable transformative and innovative research with cultural, social and economic benefits for Alberta and beyond. One such support is the Cor Van Raay AGILITY Scholarships in Agriculture and Agribusiness.

The Cor Van Raay AGILITY Scholarships are now open to applications from qualified continuing undergraduate students who express an interest in innovation or entrepreneurship in the sectors of agriculture and agribusiness. Applicants are invited to submit a one page proposal that explores themes designed to enable Alberta to maintain a leading role in the future of agricultural entrepreneurship, agri-business, and/or economic or social innovation.

Applicants should have recent or prior involvement in entrepreneurial or innovative activities, such as Junior Achievement, Canadian Youth Business Foundation, Community Futures, 4-H, or other self-initiated activities. The Cor Van Raay AGILITY Scholarships in Agriculture are valued at $1,500 each. Up to five scholarships will be awarded in the 2015/2016 academic year.

These opportunities are made possible through the generous philanthropic gift of one of southern Alberta’s most prominent agricultural entrepreneurs, Mr. Cor Van Raay.  With Mr. Van Raay’s vision as the foundation for this award, the University of Lethbridge AGILITY program is excited to be advancing opportunities to educate future generations in agribusiness innovation.

Deadline for applications is November 1, 2015.
